Paintbox Pixies

I keep a very messy paintbox, which might make some of you cringe.  I tried to clean it all up once, by rinsing the paint off and spiffing it up, but it left me feeling a little empty, like I had taken away something that was supposed to be there...

I have not attempted to clean my paintbox again, for I believe that its spirit is to be found in its messiness.

Along with a family of ever-shifting Pixie friends that keep me company.

The Pod Keeper

The Pod Keeper...

The Pod Keeper was inspired by my love of seed pods...

Poppy Pod

As I worked along she whispered little thoughts to me...

Bergamot Pods

About the flowers, and the trees, and the humans and the breeze - and how we all carry many seeds, and thoughts, and emotions...

Hollyhock Pods, enjoying the country view

And how we gather strength and peace by letting them go...

Milkweed Pods

To nourish and heal...

Circling Radish Inspiration

It is sometimes difficult to keep up with all of the inspirations I find around me.  Well, actually, it is always difficult because I can only do one painting at a time, and I have so many ideas swirling around in my head, and such a passion for nature's little ditties that it makes me a little crazy.  In a crazy good kind of way, mind you... : )  In early summer this year, I happened to walk by the radishes growing in the vegetable patch and heard them whisper: create, create, create.  I'm sure I walked by those same radishes (or their relations) hundreds of times, and never heard them whisper to me before.  Inspiration is intriguing, and I find the process of creating wonderfully magical when an inspiration comes full circle with its work of art...
